Hi,
What is the difference between Flag for Deletion & Block for Posting.
I did flag a vendor for deletion which had open items. But still i cud post invoice & make payments.
Pls reply
Hi Vandana
Exactly the reason for deletion flag is to inform the user that no transaction should be posted.
The reason for not blocking but just flag for deletion is to ensure that the open items are cleared before it is deleted.
thanks
Ashok

Hi,
For a vendor, beside delete, there are two type of further blocks are possible.
1. Block for posting. This will enable from further booking in FI
2. Purchasing Block: This will enable from making the purchase order.
Delete only gives the warning msg while posting the invoice or raising the purchase order.
Once there is no open Purchase Order and line items in FI, during archieve, the vendor will diappear.
Hope this helps, if yes, please assign points.

Harish

Hi
With the Flag for Deletion it will be archived when you are running archiving, but you can still post on it. The Block for Posting will block it for postings.
