1. Install SAPGUI

2. saplogon.ini : Give administrative access to User for saplogon.ini

Location C:\WINDOWS

3. Configure the SAP system with ( Application Server , System Id , System Number )

4. Services : Path for services : C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

Add following entry at the top in the services

Sapdp<System Number> 3206/tcp

e.g. If System Number = 06

sapdp06 3206/tcp

I added a

entry for "sapdp<sid> 3600/tcp" in the file

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services

IMPORTANT - if you add at last position it do not work...but works when u add at first place

As many suggested and error changed...to CONNECTION TO PARTNER .......... BROKEN

looks like suggestion is working....

please advise what else need to get done ...to resolve above problem

Thank you

Hi Nandesh,

Did you ever fix your problem about your SAPLogon error:

"Connection to application server broken

WSATYPE_NOT_FOUND"

I have th same problem!

Thanks

Hi Nandesh,

when you get the info-popup with the message "WSATYPE_NOT_FOUND" click on the button detailed info. Then you get a more detailed info which service should be add in you /etc/services-file (e.g. "Method NiPGetServByName: 'sapdp10' not found").

When you should add a entry for sapdp10 in the file C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services

(e.g.: sapdp10 3210/tcp)

dear all,

you have to check network connection (ping) between your client where SAPGUI exist and your server. if it is ok, then maybe your logon config must be checked, is there something wrong : system ID, system number ?

Dear All ,

I have also tried making all the permutations and combinations with the services file. But still getting the same error.

Now i tried to reinstall SAP GUI several times but the same logon error occurs.

I think that there is some registry entry in the windows that is causing the problem.

So ultimately the problem may be with OS and reimaging is the last option.

Can anyone suggest me any other approach to this issue.

1. check your PC for virus

2. have you installed Messenger? an old version was tweaking the services file location

3. add the entry AS THE FIRST line of your file and try again.

Hi

Useful discussions will add more mileage if it is posted and responnded in proper Forums..

First of all this message should be posted in SAPGUI - dedicated for GUI problems..

Reading a message with UNIX and viruses and registries , Start --> Run ... oops. quite confusing.. can we please follow the posting guidelines???...

Cheers

I have already checked the entries in the services file

sapmsps1 3600/tcp

But still the problem persists

make sure that his entry is NOT the last in your services file.

also, this entry is case sensitive, so replace it with:

sapmsPS1 3600/tcp

I do use login groups . I am currently using 8 application servers.

All servers are up.

Ok...

WSATYPE_NOT_SUPPORTED means, that the service you have in your /etc/services is not supported for the connection you are requesting.

You have the entry

sapms<SID> 3600/tcp

in your services? Or is this UDP?
