emailing database content

Hello Experts!!

I got a task, as under.

While user click on save button, database content shud be mailed (.xls or pdf) to the concern person (abc@gmail.com) via Microsoft outlook?

how to proceed with code? can u please suggest me. If any smtp config required please suggest me.
