batch problem

Hi!

I have a problem and I wonder if you could try to help me resolve it.

This is what I am trying to do.

I have a material that is valuated at Standard Price and it is managed in

batches.

Let’s suppose I receive different batches of material at different prices.

Example:

Batch: 001 price 2 with pieces 20

Batch: 002 price 3 with pieces

40

Batch: 003 price 4 with pieces 40

My question is: when I sale this product, can I choose anyone of these

batches?

Example: when I sale this product, can I choose let’s say batch 002, price

3 and not batch 001 as in FIFO?

Do I have to use FIFO if the material is managed

in batches?

If there are things you don't understand from my message, please let me

know.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Marcel Pirvu

OK; thanks for your answers; but I have 2 more questions regarding this:

1. When I sale the product, I am able to see the batches, but I don't see the quatity and the receiving price for every batch; what can I do to see these things?

PS: It is very important for me to see on a sales order (when I choose the batch) the receiving price for the batch. Can I see this price?

2. Where do I find the sorting criteria you mentioned?

Thanks

Hello Pirvu,

My question is: when I sale this product, can I choose anyone of these

batches?

Yes, there is nothing restriction on this, you can use any batches.

When I sale this product, can I choose let’s say batch 002, price

3 and not batch 001 as in FIFO?

Yes, you can. Sales price is totally different than purchase price and also sales price is different than valuation price.

Do I have to use FIFO if the material is managed in batches?

It's not mandatory, depends on company's policy or business practice.
