Dear All,
Our business strategy is that we make the process order in each Thu. and firm it until next Sun. Which lot size key and PTF are the most appropriate for us?
We choose lot size U1 and PTF 7days now.But we only want to firm the process order for one week. Under current setting, the firm zone will ratchet to another 7days in Tue. So the next planned order was firmed in a long time.
Thanks & Best Regards,
May
Hi May
1.>Create a planning calender using MD25 with period calculation rule as week's(week days), with every THU (4) as the period start day.
2>Assign this calander to ur material in material master.
3> create a new lot size copying PK in OM14, only change the scheduling as 1( period start= delivery date) & assign this to the material master.
This will create planned orders only on thursdays
Now about firming what do u mean by "we only want to firm the process order for one week" only planned orders get firmed not process orders ( Process orders are any way firmed)actually using firming if a planned order is firmed it remains firmed untill it is changed to process or production order.
4> use MRP type with firming type 1(P1).
5>this will see that ur planned orders created on thursdays are firmed.

Hi Ranga
For the MRP type, we use M1 for the finished products and PD for the component material.
Thanks,
May

Hi May,
The lot size the forum can suggest if you know about your product. That you need to decide.
What is the mrp type you are using?
