Console or Administrator's only free Work Proccess for admin purposes

We are running out of work proccesses at certain time of the day, 5 o clock, and as all wp are busy we could not see/solution the problem at the moment unless we restart SAP

We're working on the wp saturation (reducing wpruntime, checking bad Z develpments, checking logs, db locks from oracle, xi interfase workflow, and so on ) but when this had happend, system freezes for 30 or more minutes & some days we had to restart sap so bussiness could work ( and after that restart all goes right !!!!)

While we find out reason & solution.....

Is there a way to let one dialog process fee for admin purposes ( say sap* only access ), so we can enter and see what happens and/or kill bad behavior proccess? ( or a console where we could do that?)

Seems thats not possible, but if you know a way that we'll help us a lot. It's frustrating having problems and not have the way to see what's wrong in the moment within SAP because theres no free wp to see)

Hi,

If you are working on system performance issue, then i would like to add some points to check out where your system is taking time. I had same kind of problem.

and following checks helped me a lot.

Pls check following things.

- Earlywatch report (if you can find hardware or any software not compatible with current database size and reorganization of tables and indexes

- Check workload for database response time. If your database response time will be greater then also you will face large dialog response time.

- If you find large database response time , then check for missing indexes in DB02

- Check for Expensive SQL queries in ST04-> Detailed Analysis Menu-> SQL Request (It will take some time)

- analyse first 10 queries, thoise are most expensive SQL statements and create secondary index on the selected field of the table.

Thanks, we were doing that and also reducing/limiting bad apps at certain time of the day . We knew we have to reduce workload at one critical hour in our system and seems it's the only way.

We wanted a backdoor dialog proccess for when we don´t have any free dialog process and for admin only ( one dialog process always free for sap* )

Problem was when dialog work processes were block, you cannot enter to see whats wrong in the moment and free resourses at that time (unless Oracle console, killling procesess)

Thanks

Hi

In these situations you can use OS utility <b>dpmon</b> and you can kill workprocess . Why cant you try increasing Dialog workprocess or try using Operational modes etc ..

Thanks

Thank you. Access problem resolved with dpmon & work process saturation was checked by specialist, some sales updates now they're run asynchronously with V2 and V3 processes... so they not lock update ( and dialog ) processes.

Hi,

Actually i have heard that using the report RSTRC000, an administrator can reserve a work process.

Maybe u can hav a look at this..
