BOM CREATION

Dear All,

while creating new bill of material the component description cloumn is in the Display mode. How to convert this into entry mode? Pls reply.

Hi Anil,

1.it is always dispaly mode only, if you enter your bom item code in component coloum it will come automatically.

2. Becuse it has been given while creating material in material master (MM01).

As you know its an integrated software package. Suppose you are working in PP environment... but few data it may pick from MM environment or few from FICO etc... these data you can only change there only and in rest of the enviroment it will be read only ! ( Hope you appriciate this reply which is given in real SAP conceptual style)

Dear Anil Pawar

you will NOT be able to Convert it into entry or change mode as it this field will automatically get copied from the Material master description field. so unless you change it in MM02 under the material description directly here which will get reflected in BOM component then

the alternative way if you want to enter something different from this, you can click on the ITEM details of that particular Component and dclick on STATUS LONG TEXT tab and you can enter value in the ITEM TEXT in LINE-1 and LINE-2 Fields and this can be used as option
