Hi,

How do we manage user manuals that are given with the main items, in SAP? Do we have a seperate material type for those? If so how to create them?

Hi Ajit,

Go to VOV4- maintain item category determination.

OR + -

---

+ TEXT + -

---

= TATX

OR + -

---

+ TEXT + TAN = TATX

In this way you can determine the text items.

Generally Item category is determined based on:

Sales document type + Item category groupUsageHigher level Item.

We never assign the usage indicator for a material in the MMR.Standard SAP provides some STANDARD USAGE indicators. Normally we dont create new usage indicaors apart from what is provided with. But if you want to create new usage indicator it can be done in the IMG.

THEY ARE TEXT ITEMS WITH ITEM CATEGORY TATX

HI Prasanth,

How can we create them and when I try to change the item category for standard item TAN to TATX its not accepting.

I checked the item category assignment

ORNORMTEXT=TATX or

ORNORMTEXT+TAN=TATX.

I dint understand where can we assign the usage TEXT to a material becasue i never heard of assigning Usages to materials while creating material master.

hi,

i think you are in the right direction. for that user manual, let it be norm.

now maintain the item cat. det as

Or + Norm + TEXT --- > TATX

since you are giving it along with a TAN item only need to determine this as

Or + Norm + Text + TAN --- > TATX.

Its automatically determined in the sales and you dont need to change a TAN to TATX.

We dont have any provision or requirement to assign usages to materials. Make sure if you want to create a delivery for this TATX item mark it as item rel. for delivery in the TATX item category ( VOV7). Else this item would nt come to delivery.
