Difference between Role and Comp. Role in Tcode PFCG

Hello!

I would like to know the difference between two buttons in Tcode PFCG:

"Role" and "Comp. Role"?

Cann "Comp. Role" contain more than one "Role" or what is exactly the difference?

Thank you very much!

Thom

Comp. Role is actually a combination of individual roles which you can combine if they all fall under one catagory. Once you generate a composite role, you will see a different symbol in front of it and if you double click on it, you will get the individual roles within that composite role.

Ok, thank you!

Do you what is "Alilas" in Su01?

SU01 is the tcode for User maintenance, where in you can display, edit or create user profile with a specific user name or alias (which is again associated with user name).

The alias is an alternative name for an SAP user.

The alias name is used to logon with certain Internet transactions. When users log on through the Internet Transaction Server on the Internet, for example, to order goods, they must enter the alias name and the corresponding password. During registration, the user can set up a new account on the Internet. In the SAP System, a new user is created with the corresponding alias name. The 12-character user name is generated automatically in this case.

The Alias field on the user maintenance initial screen is primarily used in this context to find Internet users again, when their internal technical name is not known.

If you want to create a user with an alias name, assign the alias name in the input field on the Logon Data tab.

Assigning an alias name makes available 40 characters and allows you to choose longer, more meaningful names. The user can then identify himself or herself using either the (12-character) user name or the (40-character) alias.

At the moment, you cannot use alias names for SAP GUI and RFC logons to the system.
