Basically Query is the main report. and if we customize the Query as per some restriction and want to persist that restriction while executing locally then Query View has been created.

Query is for Global usage and the local restriction or changes has been removed once the query has refreshed, but view will keep the local changes.

It's similar to workbook and use for web reporting.

Contribution of points has been appreciated, if the information is useful.

Thanks,

Regards,

Deep.

Hi,

it's work in the same way a view work in R/3( only structure retrieving values from the table).....all the changed data will reflect in all the BW views created along with the queries.

Thanks

yes, no problem

the query view is just a structure with some navigation steps... it doesn't contain data

Hi,

in terms of 3.5 BW query is global and can be used by all...query view is a executed query which you then save as a view.....it could be snapshot of the an original query and one query can have many query views depending upon the output....like drill down on one char is one of the view and drilldown on another is another view and can be saved as a view.

Thanks

Hi,

a query is the definition of your report ( define what's in rows and columns), and a query view is your query with already some navigation steps in it (like filter on company code 1100)
