just practicing the creating a dummy sales order and delivery

trying to PGI after creating delivery but error comes as goods movement error as storage location not defined for the delivery item.

help plzz

Hi,

If no storage location for picking is specified in the order item, the system determines the storage location when it creates the outbound delivery and copies it into the delivery item. The storage location entered in the order item is copied into the outbound delivery.

The system determines the picking location based on a rule defined in the delivery type. The following rules are shipped in the standard system:

Ÿ MALA: The picking location is determined based on the shipping point, the delivering plant, and the material's storage condition defined in the material master.

Ÿ RETA and MARA: These rules are mainly used in trade scenarios.

You can also define your own rules for the picking location search.

The picking location search is activated for each delivery item category.

You can change or add to delivery documents after saving.

Hello

Just go to VL02N and in Picking Tab enter your relevant Storage Location.

This should solve your problem if u have maintain storage location for that material in material master record.

i cannot see the sales:plant storage in the views in the material master of my material so what i should do to get the option to select

Hi Samir,

Go to [MM01]. Select the industry sector, material type and enter the material number in the "Copy from" section. Click on the Select View option in the application toolbar and select the view (Sales/Plant View) you want to maintain.

check for which storage location did the stock is been posted.

Maintain the same storage location while creating delivery document in picking tab.

You need to create views "General Plant data/ storage 1" and "General Plant data/ storage 2" in MM01 for that material.

Hi,

Goto Picking tab in VL02N and enter the storage location.

This is the storage location where the stock should be available so that you can do the PGI.

If you do not want storage location to be mandatory then you can goto OVLP and remove the tick for the mandatory storage location from the required item category.
