Hi,
could somebody help me in knowing in which business scenario, we can have overlapping of PP/DS horizon and SNP horizon..?
ie for example, SNP production horizon of 5 days and PP/DS horizon of 10 days..
thanks
Ram.
the SNP horizon is used to divide the responsibility between SNP and PPDS.
In an Integrated planning scenario, a SNP and PPDS horizon would be the same.
An overlapping horizon is used where conversion of SNP to PPDS orders is done using transaction /SAPAPO/RRP_SNP2PPDS or the
/SAPAPO/RRP_SNP2PPDS report
The idea is to make use of a good SNP plan without losing it by replanning in PPDS. The SNP plan might have been used in Capacity planning and levelling and you might not want any change in this by PPDS planning.
Having SNP horizon of 5days and doing an SNP plan followed by a conversion from SNP to PPDS would basically mean SNP planned orders converted to PPDS planned orders in days 5-10.
These PPDS orders can be then rescheduled in the planning board like any other PPDS order
