We are at patch level 8 on SAP J2E instance and would like to apply Patch 12.
What is the procedure to patch SAP J2EE ?

The documentation for the upgrade procedure of WAS6.40 for every platform is available at http://service.sap.com/instguides. Note 697535 gives some more details about it.
