Integrated ITS

Hello all,

Do you know if integrated ITS comes with Java stack of NW 2004s. I would like to run SAP GUI for html on the NW portal. What do I have to do in order to display SAP R/3 screens on portal without any programming.

Thanks

Hi Wing,

Please note that the integrated ITS is a service of the ABAP stack (ICM) and not the Java stack.

thanks Matt, I have looked everywhere and couldn't find ITS or ICM in our Java stack NW. Is there a NW AS support both java and abap stacks?

Hi Wing,

Yes, you could perform a doublestack installation (ABAP+Java).

It seems there is no official support for doublestack installation. I have looked at the sneak preview Java stack and abap stack NW2004s installation documentation. There is no instruction or hints about double stack installation.

Hi Wing,

You must be referring to the sneak preview editions only. There are three possible ways to install a SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) application server:

-- ABAP only

-- Java only

-- ABAP+Java (doublestack)

The integrated ITS is an ICF service of the ABAP stack. It is not necessary to have a java stack for the integrated ITS. The integrated ITS works only with the system it is on (1:1 relationship). So, in your scenario, you would want to activate the integrated ITS on the ABAP system who's transactions you want to display in the SAP webgui. Then, I think you would implement an iView on the Portal to access the webgui.

Best Regards,

Matt

there is something contardictionary.

Why you need SAPGUI in EP if you have browser?

See the links provided above:

SAP Internet Transaction Server (SAP ITS) is integrated into the kernel of the SAP Web Application Server 6.40

I.e. it is part of ABAP kernel, but not Java. SAPGUI runs against ABAP kernel, not JAVA.

We have developed something in Java stack and also want to run some R/3 abap application together in the same portal. This will give users the impression of using one integrated system.
