Import XSD

Hi Friends,

Is it possible to copy an XSD generated for an IDOC and use it to create our own message type by importing the XSD?. I tried but its not working. I think that would save time rather than creating data types for each and every segments and fields of the IDOC.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Tamilarasan.

Hi ,

Can you please explain me why u need to create a message type for an idoc as IDOC and RFC can be used directly in the message interface without creating message type.

please let me know if iam wrong

Hello,

Yes you can import your own XSD but you can not modify it in IR. So, you must modify it before importing it.

After importing it you can use it as a Message Interface.

Hope this helps.

Chris

Hi,

Yes it is possible

when u add this to external definition, check if you followed the below steps

1)category - XSD

2) messages - From ALL avl global elements (can try others too)

3) filename - you wud have given

4) source - give the file name again (with ".xsd")

Finally, if you are trying to use this in a multi-mapping in XSLT (you need to adjust the namespaces in mapping)

Hope this helps
