Failed to connect to back end system

Hi,

We had just installed VC server. On the client machine we are trying to FIND DATA. sources throught a system object. It throws a error message back

Failed to connect to back end system. Check the system definiation and user privileges.

Any clues where it could be going wrong. We had used the same system object before to connect to a r/3 system and access transaction iviews it works fine.

We are using LOW_SAFETY. To this folder should we assign user name / vcrole?

It would be great with some usefull input provided to solve the issue.Need to rectify by tonight.

Cheers,

Hi,

Solved the porblem. Connection test was failing because of a incorrect parameter in the sys object. Thanks guys for the continous support. Points have been allocated.

Have you checked the Visual Composer WIKI FAQ?

Hi,

I have tested the connection of the system object in the portal as suggested in the blog

/people/marcel.salein/blog/2007/03/14/how-to-create-a-portal-system-for-using-it-in-visual-composer

Ir returns successfull.

But again when i use the same system object in VC back to square 1 Failed to connect to back end..................

Still to figure out where to pinpoint the prob?

Anything to do with post installation ?

Did you check the user authorization on both backend and VC, and if the right users are mapped?

Did you use the same user for checking it in the portal and VC?

Also check the user mapping as Mario mentioned it.

Best Regards,

Marcel
