Trace file using transaction ST05

Hi,

Using transaction ST05 I started performance trace, I check the options SQL Trace & Buffer trace, Once I stop the trace & display the trace I am able to see the trace log. The problem is I don't know where actually log file is stored on O.S. level, because size of the server is drastically increased & we must delete the trace file.

Can anybody please tell me where those files stored.

Regards,

Rajesh

Hello Rajesh,

Check the path:

For CI

/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<system number>/log/

For Dialog instance

/usr/sap/<SID>/D<system number>/log/

Hello Rajesh,

Also whenever you list the trace you will get a pop up. In the pop up there will be an entry for Trace File Name. it gives you the path. Just to add to my previos comments the file name is:

For CI

/usr/sap/<SID>/DVEBMGS<system number>/log/TRACE0<system number>

For Dialog instance

/usr/sap/<SID>/D<system number>/log/TRACE0<system number>

Hi Rajesh,

Trace files are stored in the work directory

<drive>:\usr\sap\<sid>\<instace>\work and usually end with extension .trc
