How to start, stop or restart a J2EE Web application in NetWeaver

Hi Ludger,

You can stop/shutdown/restart the J2EE engine from transaction SMICM

SMICM -> Administration -> J2EE Instance -> Then from here you can do a Soft or Hard Shutdown / Restart the instance.

Also, you can always stop and start J2EE from MMC Console in windows or from the terminal in Unix.

I just wanted to restart a single web application not the whole j2ee engine.

restarting the whole thing is an alternative

But:

Where to find this SMICM?

Total beginner with this SAP thing

A self-developped j2ee web application.

It can be deployed with the sdm-Tool ("software deployement manager") but that tools does not seem to have an option for starting, stopping, restarting this application. There must be a tool for this task.

Edited: Actually it doesnt frestart web application but is another way to restart processes in the J2EE engine

Thanks, I found the tool for myself.

One can use the Visual Administrator (go.bat)
