SAPOSCOL not running ? (Shared memory not avaliable)

Dear Guru,

I am facing a problem with SAPOSCOL since few days....The problem is that when I check in ST06 the operating system collector is not running. When I checked the SAPOSCOL services in services applet the service is running fine there. I tried restarting the service, but no use. I even tried by SAPOSCOL -d

kill

leave

exit but no use and I have also replaced the SAPOSCOL file with the latest one from the kernel from market place but no use. Even I am unable to get any data in st03 and stad even though the standard jobs of collector performance and statistics are scheduled

Check that SAPOSCOL has permissions 4755....

Also you can try to use saposcol -c to delete the shared memory...

This is basically a memory segment got stuck in the memory and not able attach or delete.

Shutdown saposcol and clean using saoscol command

Try shutdown SAP including OS call service, restart the system and check

Try sidadm user privileges, this user may not have permission to delete the old memory segments.

IF your server has more than 4GB RAM and it is 32bit then there are few parameters need to be set.

try to apply patch for saposcol alone.

My computer -> properties-> Advanced->erformance Setting-> Edit->Advanced-> Virual Memory

Please try with restarting the instance

Hai,

Check the permissions first, 4755.

Then login with sidadm and typr saposcol -d, stop the collector first and execute clean and leave commands one by one and the tyr to start the collecotr.

If it doesnot happen then try to start the collector with root user.

/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/exe/run -- ./saposcol
