Alternate Date

Hi All,

I was trying to process a BOM with an alternate date in ECR. I have considered the following setting:

1) In SPRO I have checked the Object Maintance and Alternative Date check box 2) In the ECR/ECO ie CC31, under Object Types tab I have checked on the Actv,Object,MgtRec(Gen New ticked automatically ticked when MgtRec is checked) for the BOM.

3) Under the Object tab I have assigned the BOM and then entered the description and change type under object management tab.

After all these settings when I go assign a alternate date to the BOM and then when tries to make a change to the BOM, it gives followin error.

"Object management record cannot be generated" with following message

<b>You want to change the BOM with the entered change number.

One of the following situations triggered this error message:

1. The indicator that allows automatic generation is not set for object type BOM in the change master. (verified - found ok)

2. The indicator generation only on initial creation is set for object type BOM

(this is set default when you set the MgtRec- How to uncheck this option?

3. You are processing a change request.</b>

Please advice!!

I have not fully understood ur problem but let me try

1) Check that you have checked the check box which allow you to change BOM with ECM

2) Second thing, tell me that you are using parameter effectivity or simple effectivity

3) System status of ECR object

Hi Kamal,

1) My question was on assigning an alternative date to an object in an ECR/ECO apart from the valid from date of the Change Master. I did understood that when assigning a alternative date you need to use object mgt record which I set at two places in ECR/ECO one at the Object Types tab ( check box) and other when u select the object and enter in the details.

2)I am using simple effecivity.

3) Status at the object level is change possible.

The bottom line is to assign an alternative date to an object in an ecr/eco.

I believe that you re-do entire procedure as i tried same but its happening for me

I did as per following

1) CC31

2) Create ECR with change type 900

3) Change status 01

4) write some reason for change and change description

5) Go to object type and select as per ur requirement

6) objects linked object tab

7) go to alternative date tab and assign alternative date and assign to objects

😎 Now go to details of each object and enter change type as 900 and system status change poosible

9) Come back to header level and in system status do check till ECR approved and ECR converted

10) change your objects with change number

11) cc32> object details> release change and complete change

12) Header level --> order complete and release order

try as I tried

things may happen

Hi Kamal,

I have given a try with your steps..but ultimately when I go to the CS02 to change the BOM using the change number, I get an error saying that the 'Object Management record cannot be generated". Am wondering any setting are required at the BOM master data?
