TREX for Solution Manager

I am in the IMG "Issue Search with TREX" and don't have an existing TREX server to use. I can't find the installation media on the Solution Manager DVD's nor in the Software Distribution Center. I haven't installed TREX before so don't know where to find begin. I have an old install guide but I can't find the current one on the Service Marketplace either. Should this be part of the SolMan package? Thank you,

Hi,

If you want to install TREX Engine on a single host (or even multiple host) you can find the inst. guide in service market place, --> <a href="https://websmp208.sap-ag.de/installnw70">Search and Classification TREX Single Host</a> under node "3 -Installation - Stand alone Engines"

You can install this in a seperate system (normally practice) or in the same host as business requires.

Do you also know where I get the install media? I couldn't find it in the Solution Manager DVD's I got from SAP or the download areas on the Service Marketplace.

Hello David,

the OSS note 750623 describes the connection between Solution Manager and external Trex instance.

Sometimes Trex is installed with BW/BI or SRM. Perhaps your client has one of this systems and than you can use it.

Hi,

my current customer does not have a TREX license and is not willing to buy it just for the solution database pilot.

Is there another way to use the solution database, without installing a full TREX?
