Generally RFC lookups is used If you want to fetch data from some other system base on existing data / just fetching data.

Hi Sunil,
You are using it in graphical mapping or xslt when you are going to get some data from another system or from the same but the abap stack e.g. read some data, log information or raise an alert from the mapping.
