Hi Amitabh,
Go to transaction SNOTE -> click on download note -> enter note number -> once is downloaded read the note to check the note prerequisites (if any) -> click on implement note.
Also check the note assistant documentation for more details,

I have downloaded the sap note through t-code SNOTE , but while implementing the note , the system is asking us to assign the package .
so can u pls let me know what is the package no. for my note or else the way to find package number via NOTE.

SNOTE is a changes / correction provided by SAP in standard objects / package .
Check the menu "Correction Instruction " you will understand list of objects .

while creating alternative BOM, the error is "BOM can only be extended via master recipe".
when we are implementing the Note number from SNOTE , the system is asking to enter the package number .
