Hello to everyone

I installed an IDES(6.0) system. Now I am trying to install the license.

I am logged on client 000 with user "sap*". What could be the problem. I guess I am doing right when opting for "Determine remote HW key" in transaction "slicense"->goto.

I get message "Only the administator is authorized to execute this action".

What should I do?

Try create another user (SU01) with the similar rights and install the license, as per SAP note 870871.

Hi Tina,

As suggested by Alberto once you enter Tcode SLICENSE you can find the Hardware key at the top or else if you have any other login ID in 000 client with authorization for installing license through slicense Tcode then u can get the hardware key from slicense.

Also you can get it at the OS level in dos mode by using following commands

FOR NT saplicense -get

FOR Unix slicense -get

You do not need to request a remote hardware key, either you enter slicense transaction and look at the top of the screen where HW key is or you go into dos and use slicense -get
