Hi,
What are the mechanisms to connect to SAP systems and non SAP systems using Portal and WebDynpro( for Java)?
Thanks & Regards,
Mastanvali Shaik
Hi
You have an Adaptive RFC model in webdynpro for java with which you can directly connect to SAP system and webservices model for connecting to any other non SAP systems provided you need to have wsdl files. This created webdynpro applications are integrated on to the Portal Using WebDynpro iveiws.
Note:-You can also connect to sap system using webservices model
You can directly connect from portal to SAP systems using SAP Transactional SAP RFC iviews and should define the sytems and its aliases.
For non SAP systems like you have predefined iview templates like jdbc iview, BW iview, url iview... etc.
Go through the following links.

Hi Sathish,
I gone through the links which you have provided for my question... But I am not getting the exact solution...
(1)https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/webcontent/uuid/10f7a71d-d911-2a10-39b0-8a9f318c94ac?startindex=81 [original link is broken]
This link contains nearly 20 PDF files... Then to know the connectivity with sap & non sap systems which one I have to follow?
(2)http://www.sappro.com/downloads/OptionComparison.pdf :
This pdf is mainly dealing about Eight options for developing and deploying custom portal content...It is not dealing about connectivity
(3)https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/asugtech2004:
This link mainly deals about SAP XI... but not the connectivity?
Please give the proper links so that I will get a thorough Idea on connectivity with sap systems and non sapsystem by using portal or by using webdynpro programming(for java)?
Thanks & Regards,
Mastanvai Shaik.
