Hello,

The cause of the problem is that the host is unknown.

Please refer to the information of

note #96317 Host names during R/3 upgrade, tips & tricks

To provide SAPup the right hostname you would need to execute

the command "SAPup set stdpar". Once this has been done upgrade

should move foward.

Dear Tsungy Tadinos,

there are two ways, SAP tries to get the hostname.

1) by calling the os command 'hostname' or

2) by checking the file /etc/hosts

What does 'hostname' say, and what is the content of /etc/hosts?

Thanks,

hi

I have checked the hostname in etc hosts and its dmx1 which is ok.

if i type in hostname in the command line its also brings out the dmx1 which is also ok.

So i dont understand why it doesnt like the hostname anyone as it has been working with that since i started the upgrade.

where else should i check?

Does the hostname entry in /etc/hosts point to the real ip address or to 127.0.0.2?

In case it is 127.0.0.2, please enter the correct ip address, e.g. 10.1.1.1

Thanks,

Hannes

Hi Hannes,

Iam also having the same problem - Unknown hostname xxxxxx.

I checked in /etc/hosts file, there is a correct entry for this host. I dont know still where to check. Everywhere i checked , seems to be allright. Its a windows host.

Any suggestions?

Mohan.
