what is the customer account groups and what are the customers account groups

what does it controls and .if SD customer account group where it will effect in that.

please give clarification about that

Customer account group is used to configure the fields of customer master data. This is also used to group customers of similar characters and features.

The path for configuring customer acct group is as follows.

SPRO-FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING-ACCOUNTS PAYABLE AND ACCTS RECEIVABLE--CUSTOMER ACCOUNTSMASTER RECORDSPREPARATION FOR CREATING CUSTOMER MASTER RECORDS--DEFINE ACCOUNT GROUP WITH SCREEN LAYOUT

Customer account groups control customer master from the following perspectives:

-number range assignment

-internal or external number range

-fields which are mandatory to be maintained in CusMaster, which are hidden and which are only displayed in customer master
