Can anyone tell me the difference between WD and IWD api's and when are they used?

IWD are set of interfaces. WD are implementation of them plus some concrete implementation. One can use the both of them.

Wrong. (before correction)

It's as simple as this: IWD* = interfaces, WD* = classes of Web Dynpro API.
