Problem Deploying Web Dynpro Application

I created a simple Web Dynpro project on Netweaver Developer Studio 7.1 SP 1 Standalone version. If I try to deploy the project on the Web Application Server (Version 7.0 SP 11) I get the following error:

Clusterwide exception::com.sap.engine.services.deploy.exceptions.ServerDeploymentException: Application demo.sap.com/dev_comp_test_appl cannot be started. Reason: it has hard reference to resource tc_wdapi with type application, which is not active on the server.

How can I solve this problem?

Hi Yasar,

Have you downloaded SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment 7.1 Trial Version SP1 Preview ?

You have to down load NWDS as well as WAS which is available for CE.

This note doesn't contain any information about WAS Version for CE 7.1.

Can you give me concrete Information about releases.

Hi Mithu,

I installed the NWDS as standalone from the Composition Environment 7.1. The WAS Server has the version 7.0 SP 11. I want to deploy an application developed in NWDS 7.1 on the WAS 7.0 SP11.

If I develop an application in NWDS 7.1, is it not possible to deploy and run this on WAS 7.0 ?

Hi Yasar,

As per as i know you can not do it. If you want to do it forcefully it will give runtime error. It is better to maintain same version for NWDS and WAS.

I checked the Visual Administrator. It doesn't contain this "tc-wd-api" as application under deployed components, so i can not start it.

Your Web Application Server (Version 7.0 SP 11) Update your NWDS version 7.0.11.

Problem is coming due to incompatibility of NWDS and WAS.

hi

The appilcation tc_wdapi is not started on the server. Check it from visual admin or NWA and start it. Hope it helps.
