Hi,
We are unable to connect MDM Console and DBMS server.
Following is the error message : "Error Initializing Database Engine"
Can anybody help on this.
Regards,
Priti
Priti,
We have that problem once and the issue was that the user initializing the services (mds, mdis, mdss) didn't have permissions to write in the mds folder. Check the logs and also check if the "Accelerators" folder is getting created.
If you can't see any logs, open the mds.ini file (it should be in the same folder as the mds file) and change the options of logging to yes.

Priti,
What database are you using? Is it Oracle as the following posts suggested, or a different database.
Thanks,
Tim

I also had a few days the same problem. There can be many resaon.
Our reasons were that we needed to add some environment variable for OS user mdm. (LD_LIBRARY_PATH, ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID, PATH) and then reboot the system. If you have some other SAP systems installed then you can watch the parameters in their variables, they should be similar to your OS user mdm.
