CIF, CTM & GATP

Hi All,

We use CTM engine for network planning. Is it necesaary to have the CIF queues closed during the CTM run. Is it a problem if we keep the queues open while CTM engine is active. Is it a mandatory requirement to close the CIF queues while CTM is active?

Also confirm that in what circumstances/scenarios do we close CIF queues.

Pls also let me know that is it necessary to keep the CIF queues always open for GATP. Can GATP exist on a instance where CIF queues are closed for certain periods.

Thanks

Sachin

Sachin Nagpal,

Yes it is necessary to block the CIF queue before CTM. The reason is obvious: CTM considers entire master and transaction data during the planning run. Open CIF queue might change the same and then the result of CTM run won’t be as desired considering the new data.

We block these queues whenever we need exclusive access of master/transaction data within APO and don't want R/3 to update the same.

GATP can run of the queues are opened periodically.

rgds,

Sarah.

Before stopping the queues, GATP should be disabled because at the time of delivery if GATP int model is active & CIF is stop then it will check for availability and it will not be possible to take delivery.
