J2ee Engine in SP20 but appear in SP9

Hello,

We wanted to refresh our QUA with our PRD but it failed so we restored our QUA as it was before the refresh.

Unfortunately the j2ee engine now appear in SP9 instead of SP20 as it was before.

System : windows 2003 server

Database : Oracle 9.2.0.8

We apllied sap note 832005 => still in SP9

We applied again the SP20 => still in SP9

When we connect on visual Administartor we have this message:

j2ee engine kernel version is older than the version of visual administrator

J2ee Engine kernel : SP9

Visual Administrator : SP20

In the J2ee Engine:

sap.com SAP_JTECHS 6.40 SP9 (1000.6.40.9.0.20041119045630) SAP AG 20041122132741

sap.com SAP-JEE 6.40 SP9 (1000.6.40.9.0.20041119045409) SAP AG 20041122132741

sap.com SAP-JEECOR 6.40 SP9 (1000.6.40.9.0.20041119045253) SAP AG 20041122132733

sap.com SAP_JTECHF 6.40 SP9 (1000.6.40.9.0.20041119045516) SAP AG 20041122132734

In the SDM we have the good SP level

It seems that the SP9 is the SP level when the system was implemented then it was upgraded to the SP14 and in july to SP20.

Do you know how we can switch again with the SP20 ?

Regards

Successfully executed. Return code: 0

When you restored your engine, did you also restore your DB back to that point and time?

If you did not, you may see something like this. You DB may have bad data in from the upgrade.

Hello,

I did restore the binary and the DB at the same point.

Unfortunately as we had also some issue with Dataprotector, it was done by a copy from disk and I'm scared that the restore was not completely succesfull.

Do you think there is a solution to re-synchronize the info of the SDM which seems to be the good one with the J2ee engine ?

I have never done that before, so I can not say.

It is worth a try, but make sure that you are ready for a worst case situation. (total rebuild)

Hi,

The only way to get the system to SP20 is patching.

The procedure is:

Download te following file from service markeplace

CTRLMSS20_0-20001822.SAR

J2EERT20_0-10001982.SAR

J2EERTOS20_0-20001822.SAR

SAPINST20_0-20001822.SAR

Uncar these SAR files

Hope you know how to uncar these files.

After Uncarring two folders will be generated.

J2EE-RUNT-CD

SAPINST-CD

Run the sapinst present within the SAPINST-CD folder.

Choose the option Import support package.

This will patch the engine from SP9 to SP20

Any queries revert back.

Do reward poits if useful..

Nayana

Hi,

Thanks for your answer but we have already re-apply the SP20 with this files

SAPINST20_0-20000116.SAR

CTRLORA20_0-20000116.SAR

J2EERT20_0-10001982.SAR

J2EERTOS20_0-20000116.SAR

Moreover the system is in SP9 not in SP16

The environement is not NT-X64 but an NT-IA64 with oracle.
