Client Export.

Dear Users,

Export production client.

The question is that i want to change my path setting from the default trans cofiles and data to other location, what is parameter required.

OS HP Unix 11.10

SAP 46c.

DB oracle 9.2.0.6

Hi Suresh,

First of all, your changing your production system, so be carefull. I haven't tested this myself. My solution does not come with any warranty.

Now for the solution:

You should change parameter DIR_TRANS.(need to reboot to activate this one)

Assuming your new directory is going to be /usr/sap/newtrans do the following:

Create directories bin, buffer, cofiles, data etc, log, sapnames & tmp.

Copy the files from /usr/sap/trans/bin to /usr/sap/trans/newbin and adjust the parameter TRANSDIR in all the files where it exists.

Now you should be able to export the client to the new transport directory.

Afterwards, don't forget to put DIR_TRANS back to what it was.
