Problem Scheduler Job : Redwood: RSI_RFC_AGENT getting error

Former Member

Hello Experts,

I have setting up the Jobs Scheduler of Redwood (OEM). I am trying to connect Redwood with SAP (Ecc6) without result.

Indeed, I maintained R/3 instance and client Redwood using scripts RSI_MAINTAIN_INSTANCES and RSI_MAINTAIN_CLIENTS.

I created the user REDWOOD in R/3 System with sap_all sap_new profiles.

But when i scheduled the RSI_RFC_AGENT, is getting executed with error.

You will find below the description:

Socket receive error, received no bytes

OS-0: Error 0

rsdinit: Other Agent already present.

So without this I cannot synchronize sap jobs.

Many thanks in advance for your help

Hocine

Hi,

You probably have already resolved this by now, but the cause might be that you have specified a port for the RFC Agent in the RSI_MAINTAIN_SAP_INSTANCES that was already in use on your system. For instance port 1529 is likely to already be taken by the Redwood Network Agent.

Each instance in RSI_MAINTAIN_SAP_INSTANCES needs its own unique TCP port assigned.

Hi Atul,

Thanks for your answer so I applied the 1060067 oss note without result.

When I tried to stop the RFC Agent using MAINTAIN_RFC_STOP_AGENT script an error occured like: Socket receive error, received no bytes OS-0: Error 0

rsdinit: Other Agent already present.

And when I started the RFC agent by RSI_RFC_START_AGENT, the job completed. But it seems Redwood cannot connect to SAP by RFC when I a job in Cronacle.

Also I tried to start the RSI_RFC_AGENT script but is getting executed with the same error that define above.

Many thanks

The error means there is already a agent is running in your environment. I would suggest to try 2 things.

In Job filters you will see the a Agents or RFC agents filter, kill you agent job from there. Now start the agent. If this does not work,

Not sure, if you had resterted the redwood server after it was installed. stop and start the server (also the explorer). This should do the trick.

Let me know if that also does not work.

You can also use the SAP Service desk. They have dedicated people for Redwood in European & north american help desk.
