Please Advice Steps for Installing SAP 4.7 SR1 on Windows 2003 Server with oracle 8i Database for AMD System ( 32 bit and 64 bit )
Does AMD system needs different Kernel?
1. http://service.sap.com/instguides
2. AMD procs are capable of running x64, so install 64bit Windows and x64 SAP software.

yes, you have to use 6.40 based installation for AMD x64.
And even using this, you have chance to install supported system with Oracle 10g (<a href="https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/949116">note 949116</a>) if you want x64 (8i is out of support completely, 9i is not supported as 32-bit application in 64-bit environment).
