Hi vamsi,

Should we need to create RFC Destination in R/3 & in XI if RFC is Receiver

No, you dont require any RFC destination neither in R/3 or in XI.

Just configure the RFC adapter.

all,

once I posted the same question in SDN ,that time I have been told that we need to create RFC dest on XI if XI sending mesasges to R/3.since then I am under impression that we need RFC dest on XI Sender.

if I am wrong I am sorry for wrong input.

Vamsi, you may try one scenario one with RFC dest on XI and other without RFc dest on XI.see how it would work.

thank you.

Hi Babu,

Even though if we create a RFC dest , Where we will specify that RFC Dest in the Scenaio.

We will not Specify it Through out the scenario.

If it is the Sender RFC means we need to create a RFC Dest With Registered Program ID in Sm59

yes,you are correct.

we dont use RFC dest anywhere in the scenario for the RFC recieving side .

and we need RFC dest for RFC sender side.

I am so sorry for causing the confusion.

Hello Vamsi,

No we dont need it.

RFC at receiver is used to work on any FM in R/3 .Even in sender or Receiver ,there is no need of "creating RFC Destination in both sides".

Vamsee,

You do not need an RFC destination if RFC is Receiver. When you will configure receiver RFC adapter you need to specify the target system details with username and password. So explicitly you do not need to maintained RFC destination for same.

Hope this will answer your query.

Let me know if you need more details.

Hi,

No, we need not create any RFC destination to call the RFC.

Just configure the RFC (Receiver adapter) just by entering SAP logon credentials.

For more info please go tru the link below,

Yes,you need to create RFC destination.

if R/3 is the sender then you create it on R/3 or if Xi is the sender then you will create it on XI.in both cases TCode:SM59 of type 'T'

Abhishek,

without RFc dest how would you communicate with target system?
