1.Why we are using XI in the file to IDOC scenario?without XI we'll do this data transfer from third party system to SAP r/3 system by using EDI.so wht is the neccesity to use of XI?

2.How we can recognise the third party system in XI?don't say abt technical and business system.

3.In which Cases we are using Host and IP address?

4.What is the criteria for crearting Port in IDX1?

5.Is it necessary to maintain IDX2?

6.Why we are Using BPM?when we are using BPM?

Suppose we need to generate a file which understandable by the third party system, which requires conversion hence when we pass IDoc through XI we can achieve this conversion.

for example the third party system can read a file in tab delimited or , delimited then IDoc sent had to be through XI to achieve conversion.

Usually a third party system is an application developed by other than SAP. Now it becomes necessary to integrate this system with SAP system then that application acts as third party during integration

For example you are integrating a Point Of Sale system with SAP Retail system then your POS system can be third party system.

I will tell this in general view. Host is in turn represented as IP Address. It can inter changeable. But if we making use of Host name then an host entry has to be made in the local system telling this host is meant with this IP Address

Yes it is necessary to maintain IDX2. When you define a port in IDX1 for communication, it is necessary to know what are you communicating, hence if you create the port in IDX1 then corresponding metadata (data about data) should be know that will be maintained in IDX2

<i>> 6.Why we are Using BPM?when we are using BPM?</i>

We use BPM to persist the incoming data and take some business decision.

BPM is used to

1. To persist data for a while

2. To process the data and achieve the business process

3. Convert syn - async and vice versa
