hello,
we just upgraded our system to a ECC6 unicode on an IA64 with windows 2003.
Is it possible to install the J2EE services with ADS services ont it ?
I heard instaling a J2EE on IA64 with windows was not really possible.
If not could we install it on a third party server like tomkat or Jboss on anoter machine, and still make the ADS work with our brand new servers ?
thanks for your help
good day
Quentin
Hello Quentin,
it is unfortunatelly inpossibble. The ADS is using native threads, what are not able to run on IA64.
Best regards,
Dezso

Hello Deszo,
why are native threads not able to run on IA64??
i can not understand SAP and Adobe. A large part of the users run SAP on UNIX, and the future is IA64. SAP told us, that it would be possible to run ADS on IA64 with the new release. But actually, the new release is planned at the end of the next year (2008).
For this reason, we installed a separate Java machine, on an old PA-RISC server. The problem is that it has to be available too, so we have to maintain two systems.
Best regards,
