hi sapians,
i know how to create a BOM (single level) but iam not able to understand, iam trying to do the same process for Multilevel BOM by creating a dummy item category group and by using LUMF for main item..can any one help me out how multi-level BOM can be executed ?
main item-(ex: computer)-
sub item: cpu,key board
options: pricing at main item(use item cate erla) or not (use item cate group lumf)
for sub items: item cat group norm
if erla is item cat group: item cat are:taq(MI),tae(si)
for lumf : tap(mi) and tan(si)
in master record you select bom for sales oreder in item cat you selectlevel(MI)

hi,
you just create two BOM's to start with initially. Lets say
1st Bom is
A - header item : item category group erla
a1-components
a2-components
2nd Bom
B - header : item cat. group - erla
b1-component
b2-component
Now assume you are creating A in CS01 t.code just put
a1, a2 and B as the components. So you have now a bom item A which has B as a component which is again a BOM.
Whether its ERLA or LUMF make sure you map the item categories as per your requirement properly in VOV4( item cat. determination).
Also for the main item ie A in its item category control VOV7 for the field structure scope select the field value as " B ". This helps explode a multilevel BOM.
Thanks
