Hi Friends,

I am working as SAP Technical Consultant ie on ABAP. I am very much intersted to learn Netweaver, can any one help me how to start this.

As you are from SAP background, i am sure its not a tough job to get into Netweaver.

In Netweaver itself there are many components. So just choose the right on you want to enter into like SAP XI,SAP BW,SAP MDM are the best options to enter into.As other all require sound knowledge in JAVA.

But to enter into any of Netweaver component better to know basic knowledge of Java along with your ABAP.

"NetWeaver" has a broad scope, it is the basis for all SAP solutions on a given hardware, it provides an open integration and application platform and permits the integration of the Enterprise Services Architecture, unifies and aligns People, Information and Business Processes.

Getting into NW:

There are some areas, where you can focus:

EP – Java Programming

XI – Combination of ABAP, JAVA & Graphical Mapping, comparatively less coding

BI – Data Modeling & ABAP

Application Platform – WAS JAVA & ABAP

Since you have an ABAP back ground, you can chose either XI or BI both are hot in the market.

Start by going thru the basic architecture.

Then, start with simple simple scenarios like a file to file and move up slowly..

You can use these blogs to do some scenarios and get a hang of XI.
