Hello,
I wonder whether any of you have experienced the following scenario:
The scenario deals with Quarter Pallets in shipping. Essentially, it is a full pallet on that ¼ of the items are shrink wrapped together and placed on a miniature white wood pallet that is then placed on a full sized pallet.
Here is the example.
Normal product configuration that is sold to a majority of the customers:
24 cans in a case,
40 cases on a pallet (typically ordered by the pallet, but can be ordered by the case)
Qtr Pallet product Config, that is sold to Select Customers:
24 cans in a case, 10 cases in a qtr pallet, 4 qtr pallets on a full pallet (can only be ordered by the full pallet)
The items/GTINs (Global Trade Identification Number) will be the same for the Cans and Cases in both configurations. The GTINs will be different for the full pallet, and the full pallet that contains the 4 quarters.
The Qtr pallet will likely require its own GTIN. It is assumed that our client set up the ¼ pallet as an item (that cannot be ordered), then set up a new item for the Full pallet that includes 4 of the packs (Quarters).
Does anyone have any experience with the Quarter pallets and similar scenario at their client sites? How do they handle them from the pick and pack standpoint?
