Multiple Sales Area

I have a client who has 3 legal entities therefore 3 company codes. Each company sells different sets of products but ship from 1 location. Each company will have its own Sales Org, DC and Division. How do I configure the sales area so that the requirement below can be met?

Requirement: Ability to place 1 order for products from both Sales Org A and Sales Org B and ability to ship all products as 1 order.

Please advice on possible configuration options.

Thanks in advance.

Dear Dolly

There are some limitation in SAP also, and if we see functional point of view if it is possible also then in which company code will FI document and costing posted???

In this case you can suggest that Products should follow Cross company code STO from Two company code and sales organisation to the thrid one.

Once your products are in one Company Code and one Sales org you can deliver the goods to same ship to party and can bill to same party

Hi Dolly

If there are 3 legal entities, hence 3 CC, you should also have 3 sales org and sales org canbe assigned to only one ccode. Having said that you cannot have more than one sales org in one document. So selling products belonging to multiple sales org in one document is ruled out. Also cross company sales is also not advisable because teh concept itself is about selling between 2ccodes, but in our context, we are selling FROM different ccodes to some external party, there is no internal sales between these company codes

The optimal and feasible solution is to create sales orders for one sales org at a time.

Hope this clears your doubt.

Sales Order is created for a Sales Area, which can have only one Sales Organization in it. Hence it is not possible to have 2 Sales Organization in one Sales Order.

The Only Possibility is that you use a order type , say OR, such that it supports both Normal sales as well as Cross Comapany sales. Do the necessary configuration for cross company sale. link: http://help.sap.com/bp_bblibrary/500/html/J62_CCSOP_EN_IN.htm

Inthat case you can have 2 line item in same Sales Order, one being for normal sales & second for Cross Company sale. However the Sales Order will belong to only one Sales Organization. The second effect will be Inter Company Billing for the same, which will be supported by same Order.

The above is proposed & hopefully should work fine. It requires to be tested.

Hi,

You can use the our model as wat we are using in our current project. We also have the same situation. We have created 3 different Company Code and 3 different Sales Org for each company code and as we distributing all the 3 company codes material from one roof we have created one distributional channel and 1 division. And 1 distribution channel we have extended to all three sales org. Like below

C1->Company Code 1->SO1--->Sales Org 1

C2->Company Code 2->SO2--->Sales Org 2

C3->Company Code 3->SO3--->Sales Org 3

Distribution Channel is DC.

Division is DV.

I will now have 3 sales area defined for the above combination.

SO1/DC/DV

SO2/DC/DV

SO3/DC/DV

And also we need to have 3 different Plants defined for individual sales org.

I hope i have answered your question clearly.

Hi Dolly,

An order has the Sales Orgn, Dist Chnl and Division as part of the header data. You requirement to have one order from both Sales Orgn is not possible. Moreover the revenue generated by the order should be posted against one company code and in your requirement we have three different company codes each with their own sales area.
