QM configuration

as per my knowledge, in QM we need not change any configuration.

if anything we need to change pls tell me the imp one.

Hello Sandip,

it would probably help to read the documentation in the Implememtation guide (Transaction SPRO -> IMG).

Furthermore I agree that there are settings that need to be maintained if needed, but as previously replied fact is that it is near to impossible to say which settings need to be maintained, because the individual needs for certain system settings all depend on your demands.

This is the same as if you were to ask which exits you need. The answer can only be given if you give a certain case which describes the specific demands.

Hi Sandip,

It seems you are aware of config and wants to know what config is required to be made apart from std SAP config.

I think you won't get definite answer as it all depends on the design of the system.

My suggestion is to go through entire config step by step and understand the relevance of each item. It is difficult to do but if you do it 3-4 times you will become champion.

but still if you can tell me the important areas of configuration where changes need to do in the std config.

ex. if i want to apply QM in Sales, i need to make changes in std configuration and need to assign the lot origin 10 to the delivery type LF, which is not assigned there in std configuration.

I didn't understand what you want.

I guess you want to know what are the imp QM configuations. And you think we need not do QM config, can use std config.

Plant level settings.

Assigning task list type Q to material types requiring QI

Numbering Q objects

Inspection types

Based on the design of QM system we have to work on config.

actually,

While working on my first project,there was a senior consultant.I told him to teach me configuration.He told me that there is noyhing to change in QM configuration.we need to keep it as it is.

later i learned configuration part on my own as and when required.

now my question is suppose i want to go for implementation project what changes i will have to make in configuration.i dont know this because on first project i was not involved in configuration.

And one more thing, one my friend want to learn the QM module from me.So he was asking for configuration to teach him.

so in that regard i am asking what i need to teach him.

i know few things like inspection type maintenance,assigning insp type to lot origin etc.
