Can we assign batches to each material?

To use batches, we have have to set batch serial numbers?

Hi

batches can be maintained for each material level. and there are two types 1. is to manually enter in the order or delivery and it should be maintained in batches. ie. activate in material master record and 2. in item category and delivery item category. and finally when posting it will be maintained in a batch according to that storage location.

and the other one is using condition technique/ and this can be done automatically based on the condition records you maintain. set up the determination procedure and for the combination of fields maintain the condition records and put into the procedure and finally assign to the order type. for more details contact any MM or PP Guys. because they will give you exact picture.

batch can be created for material

firstly u should activate the batch at material level. use Tcode OMCE for this.

next assign number ranges for the batch.

further condition technique is done for batch mgt.

then define a sort sequence(CU70) and create a class(CL01)

NEXT ACTIVATE BATCH DETERMINATION AT SALES ORDER LEVEL(TAN)

ACTIVATE BATCH DETERMINATION AT DELIVERY ITEM CATEGORY(DLN).

next maintain condition recorrds( VCH1)

and finally create batches(MSC1N).

Hi

In MM01 : Check the Batch mgmt field .

and you can assign batches to each material(which is batch managed) in transaction MSC1N(Create BAtch for material) .

Or in MB1C transaction(While creating stock).

For assigning batch to material you have to activate field batch determination in MM02 sales and plant view
