Issues with setting up instance availabilty alert.

Hi,

I am trying to setup system monitoring for

ECC DEV system in solution manager.

Having said that,I got the following steps passed in

"setup system monitoring" screen

1.Activate monitoring

2.Check CCMS connectivity

When i activate "instance availabilty" and save it,

the status did not change to green , it still says

"System activated but not accessible".

When RFC connection to DEV system is active,

why its still says "instance not accessible"?

Thanks

Ram

Hi Rama,

CCMSPING should be installed on the CEN. If Solution Manager is your central monitoring system (CEN), then you would install CCMSPING with the -push option.

Check in SMSY, by selecting the RFC connection row for the ECC system and doing a "Check RFC Destinations". When you check that, check the box (if not checked already) " Assign RFC Destination for system monitoring"

Eveything should return Green when you do the check.

That will help you out.

Thanks

Hi,

I have already created and tested RFC connections thru SMSY.

Also, i have assigned RFC connection to system monitoring.

In fact, i can see all other alerts getting collected from DEV system.

But only this alert(Instance availability ) remains with the status

"Not accessible".

Thanks,

Ram

Hello Prince,

We have ccmsping configured in the target system(ECC DEV).

But we don't have CCMSPING running in Solution Manager.

Is that the way we configure CCMSPING?

Thx

Rama,

Did you solve your problem? What was the solution for your problem? I am getting the same problem. It says, the alert is active buy inaccessible. If you can throw some light on how did you get this resolved, I would appreciate and award with relevant points.

Thank you.
