Numeric (not alphanumeric !) Passwords

Hi Guys,

my users have to login with a keyboard without any letters, only digits.

Now, I change the property ume.logon.security_policy.password_alpha_numeric_required =0 in the UME, restarted the server and that's it. (That's what I thought)

But still, I can't enter passwords without any letters for any user. What else do I have to do?

Regards, Astrid

Hi Astrid,

Do You want only Digits in your password?

It is not possible because of security issues. I think nobody will prefer this kind of features.

Case 1: If you configured UME with ABAP database

UME properties are not applicable; only ABAP system properties applicable.

Case 2: If you configured UME with DB only.

in this case UME properties are applicable.

Reward Points; if it is helpfull.

Thanks,

Hi,

it is a J2EE standalone version.

And if I have only mobile data entry devices without and letter-keys there is no way to enter letters. And why is an only digt-coded password insecure ? If you change the minimum length accordingly that should be fine.

Hi Astrid,

Do you have J2EE standalone or you have different source system for your UME (e.g. ABAP) ?
