How is archiving done in parallel

Former Member

Hi,

I want to delete data from our system and is planning to use the archive/delete functionality. Here is wat I do:

1. Use transaction SARA and select the archiving object to be used

2. Choose write and set up the variant that I need

3. Execute the job

It works fine but the archive takes a very long time. Is there a setting somewhere that makes the archiving run in parallel? We have quite a big machine (~50 CPUs) and it seems a bit of a waste only to use one process. Does anyone know where to make it run in parallel?

(Once the write is done, the delete runs in parallel, which of course is much much quicker)

Thanks,

/Carl

Hi,

Thanks, but this article covers DB archiving and not really the object archiving/deletion (through the transaction SARA) which I was looking for.

Hi,

Thanks, that is the correct area and I have studied that documentation before. However, I can't find anywhere in that document where it is specified if and how it is possible to do the archiving in parallel. Do you have any idea whether or not this is even possible?

Thanks,

/Carl
