J2EE Server not responding

Former Member

We are putting a load of http requests on the J2EE server using web service proxies. After a certain load the timeout starts happening.

In the SAP MMC all statuses are green. Also through browser we are unable to open the home page of the server after this.

On restart of server everything works.

Can anyone suggest

Hi Shasbank

we have exactly the same problem when calling web services. after certain calls the J2EE Server is not responding anymore. I already tried to increase the number of threads, but this did not help.

Have you been able to solve this problem? How did you proceed to solve it?

Thanks in advance

Hi Martin,

I increased the number of application threads and also the request que size for the server process. It did help but on putting more load it fails. May be you need to do a hit and trial to achieve at an optimum figure

Hi Tushar,

Thx for the inputs.

I tried your option. It worked to a certain extent.I set the max application threads to 400 instead of 40(default).

But after changing in configtool when i restarted I am unable to launch sap mmc though the server is up.

I tried increasing the load but the server hanged. I restarted and set no. of application threads to 200 and restarted the server instance.

Still the server hangs after reaching a certain load.

Hi Tanuj,

For the SAP MMC issue I restarted the server physically(machine) and it worked.

As for the load issue still I am facing the timeouts problems.

I have tried increasing the MaxRQSize from 5000 to 15000. Should this solve the problem.Pls explain

Rgds
