Material master: Basic data1 view: default weight unit.

Hi,

I have to create new material (MM01) and I want the field 'Weight Unit' in Basic data 1 view to be defaulted to 'lb' during creation.

Is this a config or how can we accomodate it?

We are using mm01 to manually create the materials.

When i checked mm02. the ist tab of basic data 1 it shows error kg is not valid of weight unit i can not move other tab due to this error. So Please help me to overcome this problem. Give me solution as soon as or else provide your email id through which i share my problem relatate with sap.

Hi Abhi,

It is possible to define a default unit of weight for each material group. Therefore we extended the customizing transaction OMSF 'Define material groups'.

If the material has not assigned a material group or the assigned material group has no default unit of weight then the system fills the weight unit in material master with the SI unit of dimension mass. (See transaction CUNI 'Units of measurement').
