I'm preparing for the Certification program: Development Consultant SAP NetWeaver ‘04 – Web Application Development - JAVA (TJA320).

Did someone already take the exam ?

I'm not sure what kind of questions to expect.

E.g. Do I need to know the complete JDO API ?

Hello Guys,

I took the SAP Dev WEB AS 6.4 certification on Sep 9 05. It is not necessary to remember the entire API, you just need to understand the API. The questions will be of Multiple choice questions with one or more answers. The multiple choice answers are mostly either true or false, or he will provide a set of api methods and we have to select the correct API questions!!!

Hi All,

FYI, and to avoid confusion, the syllabus given by Florian Aiblinger is for WAS Java developer exam.

and the syllabus given by Paras Arora is for Portal Developer exam.

The question paper pattern will contain

(1) Multiple choice(questions with multiple answers) questions. Here for each choice you have two options(true or false) to select.

(2) Multiple choice(questions with single answers) questions. Here you can select one answer of the multiple choices available.

(3) "Fill in the blanks" type of questions.

In the syllabus, give more weightage or concentrate more on topics which are followed by more no. of '' symbols. Typically topics with 3 '' or more will constitute the major part of the question paper and will help you scoring gud marks.

Have a deep patient reading of the certification materials. That will help.

No need to worry about the time allotted for your exams. You will have enough time to understand and answer the questions and also to review ur answers finally.

Wish You All Success in your Exams!!!

best regds,

Alagammai.

P.S. Don't forget to reward points for helpful answers.

HI Alagammai and all,

I have some questions to ask concerning the certification exam:

1. Will mark be deducted for wrong answers?

2. What do you feel about the difficulty of the exam? Tricky? Straight forward? Require a lot of memorization?

Thanks and Regrads,

Kelvin

In the mean time. I passed the exam!!!!

I'm now officially SAP Netweaver '04 Web Development focus Java certified.

I had a score 76%.

About 30% of the questions was about standard J2EE (EJB's). Callback methods, interfaces, local/remote, .. The Standard SUN Business Component Developer exam stuff.

About 30% wa sabout WebDynpro. Which you should know in detail. E.g. what method gives you a reference to a Button in a view ?

About 15% about JDI (DTR, CMS, CBS). E.g. which kind of components can you build with CBS ?

About 10% about webservices.

And some questions about persistence.

Kind regards,

Peter

Dear Peter,

Congratulation.

I'm going to take this exam too and your information is valuable to me. So the exam is very much in coding level and mostly focus on API? And for the EJB part, how it compare with SCBCD? Difficult? or earier?

OH.. can't expect so much on JDI since in the syllabus only for this item and should less than 10%.

Hi Kelvin,

Good luck with your exam. The number of questions per subject vary. My colleague didn't have any questions about webservices and I had a lot of them. He took the exam one month earlier.

The EJB part is easier than SCBCD. But you have to know the callback methods, the life-cycle and the remote/home similarities and differences for the EJBs.

I had a question about the permission settings in the DTR, some about the build process in CBS (who initiates it, what components can be build).

For the WebDynpro part it focuses on the API.

For object relational persistence I was asked for example about the mapping file and where relationships between object are declared.

Once again, good luck. Did you already plan the exam ?

Peter

HI Peter,

Thanks for your advice, you really helpful.

I got SCBCD too, so hope that can help my exam. I planned to take it one week later, so it really a big pressure to me, haha.

Besides wanted to ask few more questions:

1. How many questions are multiple choice? Any true or false? How many fill in the blanks questions?

2. Is the passing mark 70%?

3. Which kind of stuffs do you think need to memorize in detail? (Since i'm getting old and memory becomes poor

Thank you first.

Kelvin
